The dining room as a library. I love books. The “real” kind of books — the ones with hard covers encasing printed paper. I knew that one day I would be adding my family’s collection of leather bound books to my own already extensive group. But where to put all of them? So I decided to do what the Parisians have been doing for decades and that is to create a library from my dining room.
I had seen decorative wire grille used in the libraries of many historic stately homes and thought that by using a grille with elegant silk café-like curtains lining the inside of each cabinet door, I could trick the space into feeling unfettered and more spacious.
